GUARANAO HARBOR (PILOT STATION)
Latitudee: 11° 42' North (N); Longitudee: 70° 14' Western (W)

Location: This port is located of the western part of the Paraguana Penisula in falcon State. It possesses four (4) mooring spaces for ships with lenghts of from 100 to 190 meters (320 to 623 feet) and draught of 11,6 meters.

Pilotage: Ships going to the Lake of Maracaibo, they should embark Pilot in the Station of Pilots of Guaranao, located in this Port.

EL TABLAZO
Latitudee: 10° 46' North (N); Longitudee: 71° 32' 55" Western (W)

Location: Located in the coast this of the Lake of Maracaibo, Petrochemical Port par excellence, there they rob ships of great soaked and it stops their maneuvers they should be attended by Pilots of the Captaincy of the Port of Maracaibo . It is to the north of Port Miranda, near Tip of Palms.

Purpose: Load of petroleum and other products.

Characteristic: The installation consists of two piers. The one that is to the north is the number two and the one that is to the south is the number three with depths between 12 and 14 meters.

PUERTO MIRANDA
Latitudee: 10° 46' North (N); Longitudee: 71° 33' Western (W)

The ships that enter to the Lake of Maracaibo going to Port Miranda, will make their landfall to this port among the buoys VB 59 and B 61 toward the entrance roadstead.

Use: Load of petroleum and other products.

Characteristics: The installation consists of two piers. The one that is to the north is the number two and the one that is to the south is the number three.

BAJO GRANDE
Latitude: 10° 30' North (N); Longitude: 71° 26' Western (W)

Ships entering and leaving this port will do so on reaching the B85 and B86 Buoys.

CABIMAS
Latitude: 10° 23' North (N); Longitude: 71° 30' Western (W)

Use: Petroleum loading.

Construction Type
: These installations consists of four (4) meter in diameter buoys, to which vessels moore by means of ropes and cables.

The maximum draugth allowed is 11 meters (33 feet), for ships of up to 22.000 tons. of D.W. The maximum length permitte d is 200 meteres (665 feet).

LAGUNILLAS
Latitude: 10° 09' North (N); Longitude: 71° 16' Western (W)

The sea wall along the Lagunillas walk is built of reinforced concrete planks vvith joining beams. Its length is of 433 rneters (1.420 feet) and its purpose is the transport of personnel and the handling of motor boats, tugs and materials in general.

The pier Which extends into the lake, is built on piles supporting a concrete floor, and measures 94 meters (308 ft.).

The existing auxiliary facilities at this port include water and fuel supply, a repair shop, water pumps, barge docking, tire fighting controls, telephone and electricity. The depth is of 3.3 meters (11 feet).

BACHAQUERO
Latitude: 09 ° 57' North (N); Longitude: 71° 10' Western (W)

Purpose: Loading of oil, asphalt and general cargo.

Construction Type: Fingerpier 1.057 meters long. Built of concrete pile defenses, which have been driven into the lake bottom. The maximum draught is 11 meters (34 feet).

TIA JUANA
Latitude: 10° 15' North (N); Longitude: 71° 22' 5" Western (W)

The dock extends the length of the contention wall and is built on reinforced concrete piles, with a crown bean connecting them. It is 500 meters (1.600 feets) long and its main purpose is the movement of personnel, motor boats, tugs ang barges. The pier extends into Tía Juana bay and built on piles, its of 70 meters (15 feet).

The available auxiliary facilities in the prot are the following: water and fuel supply, repair shop for minor repair of motro boats, water pumps and fire fighting equipment. The depths is approximately 4.5 meters (15 feet).

SAN LORENZO
Latitude: 09° 47' North (N); Longitude: 71° 05' Western (W)

Purpose: Its main purpose is the loading and unloading of crude oil and refined products.

Construction Type
: The contruction of the pier consists of a wooden finger pier of some 715 meters (2.345 feets) in length with Manessmann type defenses, measuring 135 cm. (4.3 feet) in diameter, that have been driven into the bottom of the lake, the maximum draugth is 12 meters.

LA CEIBA
Latitude: 09° 28' 27" North (N); Longitude: 71° 03' 27" Western (W)

La Ceiba is a public port which has been privately manager since of 1990, by jeans of private concessions, and these are regulated by 20 year's duration contracts.

Purpose: Its purpose are multiple, being able to handle transfer and store all types of products. All the present time, La Ceiba exports mustly bulk cargoes: Coal, Silica, Coffee and Plantains; and imports: Chalk, Salt, Machinery, Cereals and Fertilizers.

This port was built to handle bulk cargo operations. It is accessed trough a dredged channel around 9 meters (29 feets) deep and 60 meters (196 feets) wide.

COLONCHA
Latitude: 09° 13' North (N); Longitude: 71° 42' Western (W)

Use: To load petroleum.

Construction Type: This a mooring buoy type pier, used mainly for oil loading. its construction consists of 4 buoys measuring 4 meters (12 feet) in diameter and the ships Moor to these by means of ropes and cables.

The maximum draugth allowed is 11 meters for vessels of up to 22.000 Tons. of D.W.

PUNTA DE PALMAS
Latitude: 09° 26' North (N); Longitude: 71° 38' Western (W)

Three (3) stationary marine installations serve as piers at this location.

PUNTICA DE PIEDRAS
Latitude: 10° 26' North (N); Longitude: 71° 38' Western (W)

Purpose: The purpose of pier is mainly mooring locatin for ships under repairs and marsh land transportations.

Construction: The pier is built of reinforced concrete and measures 140.3 meters (460 ft.) in length, and for 63,5 meters of this length it is 4,27 meters (14 feet) wide, and for the remainding 76.8 meters (251 feet), it is 3 meters (9.8 feet) wide.

Depths: The depth along the pier's length is 5 meters.

MARACAIBO
Latitude: 10° 39' North (N); Longitude: 71° 35' Western (W)

Location: Maracaibo is a natural Port, located on the North Western side of Maracaibo Lake, between Cotorrera and Santa Lucía Points, found between parallels 10° 39' N. and 10° 37' 30" N., and its maneuverable area has a depth of approximately 5.5 meters (28 ft.). The entrance to the port is carried out by leaving the main channel at the height of buoy B 76 either to the North or the South. of same. Qn the port's Eastern side, certain areas have been singled out for the handling of tankers that have to anchor, as also for ships loaded with explosives and inflammable materials. The port off Maracaibo is located to the best of the Channel the Barra of Maracaibo, at about 55 kilometers (30 miles), to the south of Zapara island.

If possesses a surface area of 99.000 meters2, as also a group of 24 cylindrical silos and 18 intersilos with an approximate capacity of about 30.000 tons.

The ports main activity is the general and bulk cargo, totaling 1.321.000 tons. per year.

Yards and warehouse conditioned to receive general cargo are available, the approximate size of the area is 14.700 meters2.

The Maracaibo sand bar channel was dredged in 1956 and the present time has depth of 14 meters (45 ft.), as regards the equinoctial tide (LSW). It is maintained at this depth through periodic maintenance dredging. In order to take advantage of its maximum draught, vessels exiting the sand bar must do so two (2) hours prior to or after high tide.
